Dick Wood - Steel Guitar
Dick grew up around Fort Worth and began playing guitar at the age of 14,
switching to the bass guitar around 1977. One night in 1980, while playing a
club in Dallas, a steel player sat in with the band. It was at that moment that
Dick knew the steel was the instrument he was destined to play.
After buying a cheap steel and taking lessons from two teachers for a few
months it was time to go out and sit in with a band. Dick was hired by the first
band he auditioned with in 1981. Since then has stayed busy with numberous
popular bands playing clubs in Texas, Colorado, Alaska and Wyoming.
Playing music for many people is a nice past-time but it has also allowed Dick
to meet and play with such artist as Janie Fricke and Johnny Lee on occasion.
During the day, Dick is employed as a Sheriff's Deputy in Wise County and in
his off time he enjoys various hobbies like oil painting, flying and home
recording.
Dick is NOT a supporter of Myspace and says it sucks!
