can actually sit down with a

When I hit the bottom
I turn to an old friend
Who lives inside a bottle
Of heartache medicine
He always has a way
To make me feel alright
When the hurt calls my name
He knows just what to prescribe

A man in my condition
Dealing with this pain
Dr. Jack has my prescription
To help me make it through the day
Never had or ever need a needle
For the shots I take
A bottle a day keeps the heartache away

Who'd have ever thought
A man like me could get this way
Ever since you’ve been gone
My worlds gone down the drain
On the outside I look normal
But on the inside I feel dead
A Steady life support of whiskey
Keeps me hanging be a thread

A man in my condition
Dealing with this pain
Dr. Jack has my prescription
To help me make it through the day
Never had or ever need a needle
For the shots I take
A bottle a day keeps the heartache away
A bottle a day…….keeps the heartache away
"I love and miss the late great Gary Stewart.
Nobody sang about the hardships of drinking and heartache like him.
This is my own personal tribute to Gary".
